Lucas’ Nursery was a total labour of love that started way back in April of this year. I was adamant that the nursery be ready when he arrived. Everyone told me that I wouldn’t use the room in the early months of his life, but that hasn’t been my experience at all. With so many visitors in and out, I found myself often retiring to his room to nurse him in private. I wanted a room that I would enjoy spending my time in, but that was appropriate for a baby boy. Something that was classic and appealing to all ages. I ended up going with shades and mixed medals with pops of tiffany blue.

I landed on a cloud theme, but tried not to go to overboard with it. I pulled it through in the mobile and these oversized prints behind the crib.

Most of my home has gold accents, and I wanted this room to stand apart from that, so I mixed silver and copper pieces throughout.

This beautiful custom pillow was a gift from family, and I love that it captures all his birth details. This could easily be the new age version of the baby blanket, and I am completely obsessed.

A neon blue cloud hangs above his change table, offering soft lighting for middle of the night feedings. His change table (not pictured) is an IKEA HEMNES dresser that I spruced up with new knobs from CB2 and trim from Overlays. You can get a sense of what it looks like as it matches the end table pictured above.

My favourite little nook in the room is the reading corner. The glider is probably the most comfortable piece of furniture in my house, and I find myself spending a ton of time here either nursing him, reading to him or rocking him to sleep.

I made this very easy DIY toy box from a crate I found at Michaels. It’s so perfectly staged now but as he gets older I’m sure this thing will be filled with toy trucks and Lego.

His wardrobe is a customized IKEA PAX. We were lucky enough that the measurements of the PAX were the exact same as his closet, so we simply designed a PAX without doors and then built it into the existing closet. The pull out drawer with acrylic dividers is perfect for displaying his shoes.

It took some time to get here, but this has really become my favourite room in the house. If you’re wondering where a few of these key pieces came from, I’ve included the links to items below.
